The goal of the Family Peace Center-Maui is to bring peace to Hawaii's families by offering safety, support, and empowerment to victims/survivors and their children exposed to domestic violence, and accountability to offenders. Family Peace Center has been conducting domestic violence counseling on Maui since 1994.

The Maui Family Peace Center (FPC) provides many community services to help stop domestic violence including:

Puuhonua Unit: Support and safety planning for victims/survivors of domestic violence including assistance to those individuals who need Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs). A skilled counselor is there if you need to just call in and talk about your concerns. If a TRO is requested, the counselor will assist you in preparing the TRO, going to court with you and helping you advocate for your rights and providing a weekly support group if requested after the hearing.

Kuleana Unit: Groups for offenders of intimate partner violence (IPV) as well as groups for offenders of non-partner abuse led by skilled group facilitators in separate groups for males and females. Some clients are paid for by the Judiciary and some are self pay on a sliding fee schedule which is determined at intake.

• Groups for male offenders with co-occurring substance abuse.

• Groups conducted in the Ilocano language.

Na Opio: Groups for adolescents who are in need of more effective problem solving skills around the use of anger and/or those exhibiting violent behavior and, anger control issues. There is no charge for these groups as the Judiciary financially supports this service. Anyone can refer themselves or family member.

• FPC staff are available to speak to community groups on issues related to intimate partner violence as well as issues regarding teens and anger.

If you or anyone you know are experiencing any of these situations please call us for more information or to talk to a skilled counselor. Mahalo.
