A shelter for victims of domestic violence here on O’ahu is now at full capacity.
Parents and Children Together says it’s facility has seen a twenty to thirty percent increase in requests since the start of the pandemic.
“We’re working with our partners on different things we could do, possibly working with the hotels and providing vouchers because we also have to keep that social distancing requirement at the shelter as well,” said Marie Vorsino with PACT.
Staff say there has also been an increase in calls to their hotline.
The organization says it is now working to open up another shelter to make more beds available.
